KIRSHENBAUM BOND WINS MOHEGAN SUN AD ACCOUNT

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Casino operator Mohegan Sun selected MDC Partners' Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners, New York, to handle its $25 million advertising and media planning account, according to the casino.

Santa Monica, Calif., conducted the review, which began in January. Calls to Select Resources were not returned at press time.

Cliff Freeman & Partners, New York, the incumbent, defended the account. Other finalists included Bartle Bogle Hegarty, New York, 49% owned by Publicis Groupe, and Interpublic Group of Cos.' Mullen, Wenham, Mass. Calls to each of the agencies seeking comment were not returned at press time.

Mohegan Sun, owned by the Mohegan Tribe, is located in Uncasville, Conn.

The company continues to work with independent Mintz & Hoke of Avon, Conn., for broadcast media buying and Media Space Solutions of Norwalk, Conn., for print.

Mohegan Sun spent was $13.5 million in measured media in 2003, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMR.
