Back in late March, one Northwestern student grabbed adland's attention with an unorthodox resume she sent to some agencies: a Lego version of herself, complete with packaging.

Leah Bowman's unique efforts have landed her an internship in account management at Omnicom's Energy BBDO. "A few weeks ago I was 'that LEGO intern girl' but now I'm officially a BBDO Account Management Intern!" said Ms. Bowman on a caption of a photo of the Energy BBDO logo on her Imgur page.

An EnergyBBDO spokeswoman said that Ms. Bowman will start in late June. The shop will have 16 summer interns for all disciplines, including creative and account management.

Ms. Bowman originally got attention because she posted images of her resume packet online, which included the headline: "Build the Perfect Account Service intern." In the post on Imgur, Ms. Bowman she said that one agency specifically requested a persuasive advertisement (though it's not clear which agency), so she created an 11x17 poster highlighting her "miniscale me" as well as her skills. She also designed packaging that shows her areas of study.

"I wanted a fun way to stand out to agencies and get my resume out of the trash can -- I've always loved Lego and I created this set to highlight my creativity, skills and initiative! It's something I hope to be able to send out along with a job application," said Ms. Bowman in her post on Imgur from March.

Aside from Energy BBDO, Ms. Bowman ended up sending her resume -- or in some cases leaving it behind at some shops she visited -- to 360i, Publicis groupe's MSLGroup and WPP's VML in Kanasa City, Mo.
