The brand previously was handled by Omnicom Group's DDB Worldwide, Chicago. Unilever spent about $20 million on the brand in U.S. measured media last year, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMR.
Lowe already handles Unilever's Wisk detergent and Snuggle fabric softener in the U.S. and its overseas offices handle dozens of products. DDB in Chicago doesn't handle any other Unilever brands but the New York office has its Knorr seasoning line. Its international branches also handle Unilever brands.
Following the shift of Caress from BBDO, New York, to WPP Group's J. Walter Thompson, New York, in December, Degree was the only remaining U.S. account handled by an Omnicom shop for Unilever's Home and Personal Care division.
