LUXOTTICA NAMES DDB AGENCY FOR LENSCRAFTERS

Account Worth $54 Million

CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- Luxottica Retail has tapped DDB Worldwide, Chicago, for its $54 million LensCrafters account, the marketer said.

Incumbent Deutsch Will Not Participate

Omnicom Group’s DDB prevailed over Havas' Arnold Worldwide, Boston, and Publicis Groupe’s Kaplan Thaler Group, New York.

Luxottica Retail, the American retail unit of Italian eyeglasses maker Luxottica Group, launched the review this fall. Deutsch, New York, had been the incumbent since 1993. The Interpublic Group of Cos. agency did not participate.

"We were pleased with the strategic capabilities in all the final presentations,” said Regina Sharp, VP-marketing services for Luxottica Retail. “DDB demonstrated particular strength in creative depth and retail insight which is key to the future of the LensCrafters brand.”
