NEW YORK ( -- Masterfoods USA has shifted its estimated $25 million Skittles account from Omnicom Group's BBDO, New York, to Omnicom's TBWA/Chiat/Day, New York, according to the marketer.

A Masterfoods spokeswoman said BBDO -- which currently handles M&M's, Snickers, Poppables, Kudos and Celebrations brands for the marketer -- will take on responsibility for two unnamed product launches later this year.

Masterfoods in 2002 awarded TBWA/Chiat/Day in Playa del Rey, Calif., its Uncle Ben's, Whiskas and Seeds of Change brands, which had been handled by D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles. BBDO won Skittles -- also handled by D'Arcy -- at the same time.

The Masterfoods' Starburst and Twix brand accounts, which are handled by Grey Global Group's Grey Worldwide of New York, are unaffected.

Media duties for Masterfoods brands is currently under review and will be decided early next year, the spokeswoman said. Masterfoods is headquartered in Hackettstown, N.J.
