Maurice Levy Lists His Office on Airbnb

Publicis Groupe CEO Maurice Lévy signs off his last annual holiday message -- he is set to retire in May -- by listing his office on Airbnb.

In Marcel's #WhatsNext film, Mr. Lévy talks about wins, losses, and restructures, but his words barely register as the viewer's attention is drawn to the action going on around him.

Removal men are noisily dismantling his office as he speaks, showing little respect for Mr. Lévy. It's hard to take the CEO's words of wisdom seriously when a man in overalls has climbed on to his desk and, with his backside only an inch from the boss's face, is struggling to remove a coffee cup from the desktop. It's an "I'm the Boss" mug that, significantly, only Mr. Lévy is able to lift.

Mr. Lévy concludes by wishing everyone "happiness, health and plenty of dreams" in 2017, while a sign announces, "Maurice Lévy's office now available on Airbnb."

Clicking on the Airbnb button takes viewers to a listing on the site, where they can win "A night at the top of the ad world."

The prize includes a "painfully long to-do list," but also a chauffeur, a bodyguard, a professional photographer and a personal assistant. The day kicks off with breakfast on Mr. Lévy's 6000 sq ft. rooftop terrace overlooking the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe.

A massage, a private screening, and a Michelin-starred dinner all hint at the lifestyle Mr. Lévy enjoys. At the end of the day, the winner and guest will be chauffeured to a beautiful apartment nearby, "where you can get a good night's sleep, knowing you won't have another tough day as CEO tomorrow."

House rules include, "Bring a friend. It can get lonely at the top;" and "No matter what -- it's always your fault."

Mr. Lévy's topical "Publicis Wishes" videos have been a regular feature of the holiday season since 2010. Last year he wore a wig in a spoof ad, and offered viewers the chance to "skip Maurice."
