NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Interpublic Group of Cos.' McCann-Erickson Worldwide retained creative and strategic responsibilities for Black & Decker's estimated $15 million power-tools account, a spokesman for the agency said.

McCann, the incumbent, fought to retain the business in a competition against Baltimore independent Outloud.

Media buying and planning on the business has not yet been awarded. Incumbent Universal McCann is defending against Aegis' Carat USA, according to knowledgeable executives.

The Towson, Md.-based toolmaker is the nation's leading power tool producer, and it also makes lawn and plumbing products as well as fasteners.
