Incumbent Publicis Midwest Backed Out of Review

CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- TGI Friday's is believed to have selected McCann Worldwide, New York, to handle its $40 million to $50 million advertising account, according to executives close to the review.

McCann bested Interpublic Group of Cos. sibling Deutsch, Los Angeles, and Omnicom Group's TBWA/Chiat/Day, Playa del Ray, Calif., for ad duties for the Carlson Restaurants Worldwide casual dining chain.

Select Resources International, West Hollywood, Calif., is the consultant.

Incumbent Publicis Groupe's Publicis Midwest, Dallas, backed out of the finals.

Chiat declined to comment and Select Resources, McCann and Deutsch could not be reached by press time.
