Former MediaVest CEO Bill Tucker has joined the 4As as exec VP-media relations.
Mr. Tucker had been president of global client operations for Publicis Groupe's Starcom MediaVest Group, the umbrella group for media agencies Starcom and MediaVest. He took on that role last June, after five years as CEO of MediaVest in the U.S. Brian Terkelsen, who had been MediaVest's branded entertainment lead, succeeded Mr. Tucker as CEO last summer.
"Bill is a proven leader and ideally suited to help the 4A's drive the next wave of media and marketing innovation," said Bill Koenigsberg, CEO and founder of independent media shop Horizon and vice chairman of the 4A's Board.
Mr. Tucker will oversee the 4A's media committees and task forces as well as serve as the association's liaison with media outlets, the trade organization said in a statement. He'll also work on developing partnerships for 4A's events such as the annual Transformation Conference.
During his time at MediaVest, Mr. Tucker worked with some of the biggest brands in the world, including Walmart, Procter & Gamble and Kraft. He was an Ad Age Media Maven in 2009, a year in which the shop which had won both the Wendy's and Comcast accounts.
The media agency vet is now leaving Publicis altogether as the holding company giant works to complete its merger with rival Omnicom.
