MICROSOFT CONSOLIDATING DIRECT MARKETING

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Microsoft Corp. is consolidating its roster of U.S. direct agencies to six from nearly 20 shops.

Two of the six are Interpublic Group of Cos.' McCann-Erickson Worldwide, New York, Microsoft's agency of record that already manages direct marketing programs for the businesses it handles, and Omnicom Group's DDB Worldwide, Seattle.

A spokeswoman for Microsoft declined to comment.
