Two by Four Enters Mix as Five Finalists Make Presentations

SAN FRANCISCO (AdAge.com) -- VF Corp.'s The North Face subsidiary has added a sixth agency to the review for its estimated $1 million advertising account.

A spokeswoman for the San Leandro, Calif.-based outdoor gear manufacturer and retailer said Chicago shop Two by Four will join other contenders in pitching the business.

Two by Four has worked for another VF division, Wrangler jeans. The 4-year-old boutique also handled projects for clients such as Coca-Cola Co.

three San Francisco agencies -- Venables, Bell & Partners, an independent agency; Havas' Black Rocket Euro RSCG; and Publicis Groupe's Publicis & Hal Riney -- and two Seattle shops, Riney sibling Publicis in the West and Omnicom Group's DDB Worldwide.

Two by Four's inclusion in the review comes as North Face was in the midst of presentations from the other contenders. In June, North Face said in a statement that it would accept no other contenders for the pitch.

Incumbent agency Banjo Strategic Entertainment, formerly Blazing Paradigm, has declined to participate in the review. A decision is expected next week.
