MULLEN WINS XM SATELLITE CREATIVE REVIEW

Carat Picks up Media Portion of $50 Million Account

BOSTON (ADAge.com) -- XM Satellite Radio Holdings has selected Interpublic Group of Cos.' Mullen, Wenham, Mass., to handle creative and Aegis' Carat, New York, for media planning and buying on its $50 million account, according to executives familiar with the situation.

shop, and agencies believed to have been included in the search were Interpublic's Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos and independent Modernista, both Boston. Creative had been handled in-house.

XM had narrowed its media search to Aegis' Carat, New York, and Publicis Groupe's MediaVest, New York.

XM declined to comment.

Boston-based consultant Pile & Co. had assisted with the search.
