DETROIT (AdAge.com) -- Nissan North America, Gardena, Calif., has awarded its new African-American and urban account for its Nissan and Infiniti brands to the newly formed True Agency after a review.
The automaker said billings would be "significantly more than $10 million."
The shop is one-third
owned by the automaker's general market agency, Omnicom Group's TBWA/Chiat/Day
, Los Angeles. The rest is owned by Richard Wayner and Claude Grunitzky, both African-American principals.
True, with headquarters in New York and at TBWA's Los Angeles office, succeeds independent Carol H. Williams Advertising, Oakland, Calif., which won General Motors Corp.'s African-American account in early January.
