OGILVY TO GET IBM CONSULTING ACCOUNT

Unit Previously Part of PricewaterhouseCooper

BOSTON (AdAge.com) -- WPP Group's Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, New York, is expected to pick up the advertising account for PricewaterhouseCoopers' consulting business, which is being acquired by IBM, according to executives close to the account.

Ogilvy, IBM's agency of record, referred calls to the marketer.

estimated at $90 million in April when Interpublic Group of Cos.' Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos and McCann-Erickson Worldwide, both New York, split the business.

PricewaterhouseCoopers' accounting business is not expected to be affected. Hill Holliday has the domestic portion of the account, while McCann handles business outside North America.

PricewaterhouseCoopers spent an estimated $3 million on advertising last year, down from $23 million in 2000, according to Taylor Nelson Sofres' CMR.
