OMD WINS ELI LILLY $67 MILLION MEDIA ACCOUNT

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Omnicom Group's OMD has won Eli Lilly & Co.'s $67 million-plus media buying and planning account, according to executives close to the review.

The shop bested Bcom3 Group's Starcom Worldwide and WPP Group's Mediaedge:CIA.

company, which is based in Indianapolis, markets Prozac and is expected to introduce a competitive brand to Pfizer's Viagra this year.

Eli Lilly suffered a major hit last year when its flagship anti-depressant drug Prozac began to face generic competition.

The company also co-markets diabetes drug Actos and its osteoperosis drug Evista competes with Merck's Fosamax. Evista featured actress Julie Andrews in some creative.
