NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- The resuscitated version of one of the most storied airlines, Pan American Airways Corp., has selected BBL Communications as its agency on a multifaceted account valued at some $7 million.

An initial task for BBL, Acton, Mass., is the design of a new version of the fabled on-board magazine Clipper, set for an April debut. BBL will also double as publisher.

Later, BBL will likely be called on to develop creative for print and possibly other mediums.

Pan Am, which now operates out of Portsmouth, N.H., and flies to a limited number of destinations, was founded in the late 1920s and operated the famous Pan Am Clipper.

The new Pan Am emerged in 1998 when the airline's logo, assets and name were purchased for $28.5 million.
