PEANUT BOARD NAMES NEW AD AGENCY, PR FIRM

By Published on .

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- The National Peanut Board has chosen ad agency Lawler Ballard Van Durand, Atlanta, and public relations firm Golin/Harris, Atlanta, to develop its new $8.5 million effort to support domestically produced peanuts.

The shift comes little more than a year after the board selected Ogilvy & Mather, Atlanta (since absorbed by J. Walter Thompson, Atlanta).

The board, although entirely farmer-funded, is an extension of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and as such is required to review contracts on an annual basis, said Marie Rizzo, the board's executive director.
