PENNZOIL NARROWS REVIEW TO EIGHT

DETROIT (AdAge.com) Pennzoil Motor Oil has narrowed the list of contenders from 14 to eight for its creative account, according to executives close to the company.

The Houston-based marketer, which was acquired by Shell Oil Co. last fall, will visit the agencies next week. Pennzoil has declined to discuss the size of the creative account.

All of the agencies declined comment, as did the marketer and its consultant for the search, Roth Associates, New York.

Pennzoil had said GSD&M will keep its approximately $20 million media planning and buying account. A decision is planned for late March.
