Jaime Robinson, the award-winning Pereira & O'Dell, San Francisco VP/ECD who helped steer the agency's celebrated social film projects for Intel/Toshiba, is joining Wieden & Kennedy, New York, in March as executive creative director.
Ms. Robinson will help lead creative alongside ECD David Kolbusz, who joined the agency in April 2014 from BBH London. The pair fill the posts vacated by Scott Vitrone and Ian Reichenthal in November 2013.
"I am thrilled to join the W&K family," said Ms. Robinson. "I'm so proud of the work I've gotten to do with the talented people at Pereira & O'Dell for the past six years. While it's hard to leave such good friends, I'm looking forward to new adventures and possibilities, to contribute a little something to the Wieden culture, and to have the chance to make wonderful things with David, Neal [Arthur, managing director] and everybody at WKNY."
Ms. Robinson spent six years at POD and is perhaps best known for helping to lead the agency's celebrated social film projects for Intel/Toshiba, including "Intel Inside" and "Beauty Inside," the latter of which earned three Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions festival in 2013 as well as a daytime Emmy Award. She led other notable projects such as Skype's "Stay Together" campaign, the Lego "Click" short film and Mattel's Scrabble "Letters and People." She also contributed to the agency's expansion and new business.
Before Pereira & O'Dell, Ms. Robinson served as ACD at EVB after starting her career as a copywriter, first at Mad Dogs & Englishmen and then at TBWA/Chiat/Day, San Francisco. Although her career began with a traditional role, over the years she's become involved in projects known for breaking creative ground. In 2014, she was president of the Mobile jury at the Cannes festival.
When she was named to Ad Age's 40 under 40 in 2013, Ms. Robinson said, "These days, we find ourselves doing research in weird places, talking to highly unusual specialists to get stuff done. If we don't quite know how to get it produced, that's the work I personally want to do because that means it's new."
Ms. Robinson joins while the agency is on a creative roll. It was named to Creativity's 2015 Innovators List for a number of standout projects, including the top-notch farewell film to Derek Jeter for Brand Jordan, its seductive, noirish brand campaign directed by David Fincher, and more great work for Delta Air Lines, including a fun 1980s throwback in-flight film.
"We wanted to find someone with true creative vision, who was amazing with people, and eternally curious about new, different ways to solve client problems," said Colleen DeCourcy, W&K Partner and global executive creative director, in a statement. "Jaime is that person."
Wieden & Kennedy New York's current client roster includes the Gap, ESPN, Heineken, Delta, Brand Jordan, Squarespace and Brown-Forman's Southern Comfort.
