BOSTON (AdAge.com) -- Pernod Ricard USA, White Plains, N.Y., has selected Omnicom Group's Alcone Marketing Group, Darien, Conn., to handle promotions and on- and off-premise marketing for its spirits and wines.

The country's No. 9 spirits company is reworking its accounts and marketing after its December purchase of many Seagram Spirits & Wine Group brands from Vivendi Universal.

the Seagram business in a shootout late last year, and the Pernod brands were added in a consolidation this year, said William Hahn, executive vice president and managing director of the agency.

Earlier this month, Pernod Ricard tapped Aegis Group's Carat, New York, to handle its estimated $30 million media planning and buying operations.

It is expected to need another creative agency for former Seagram products, which had been handled by Omnicom's TBWA/Chiat/Day, the agency for Absolut Spirits Co.'s Absolut vodka.
