Ad Account Estimated at About $5 Million

By Published on .

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Coinstar, a global network of coin-counting machines, has selected Publicis, Seattle, as its new advertising agency of record, the ad shop said.

The agency, part of Publicis Groupe, contended for the account against the incumbent, Omnicom Group's TBWA Worldwide.

The Bellevue, Wash.-based company was founded in 1992. According to Publicis USA, Coinstar spent $4 million to $5 million on advertising last year but is expected to raise that figure in 2004.

The assignment includes national creative, strategy and a range of marketing communications, the agency said. Media duties will be handled by Publicis sibling Optimedia, Seattle.
