Richards Group Picks Up Orkin's $15 Million Creative Business

Pest-Control Company Split With Longtime Agency JWT Earlier This Year

NEW YORK ( -- Richards Group, Dallas, has grabbed pest-control company Orkin's creative account, according to executives familiar with the matter. TNS data show Orkin spent $15.4 million on measured media in 2006.
Two other contenders
Richards, an independent shop, bested MDC Partners' Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners, New York, and Interpublic Group of Cos.' Mullen, Wenham, Mass., in a review.

Richards Group and Mullen declined to comment. Representatives for Kirshenbaum could not be immediately reached.

Orkin's creative account went into play this summer after the company parted ways with longtime agency partner JWT, Atlanta.

A subsidiary of Atlanta-based Rollins, Orkin has more than 400 locations around the country and provides pest-control services to roughly 1.6 million residential and commercial customers.
