NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Sony Corp. narrowed its $1 billion global media consolidation review, according to executives.

Moving to the second round are Interpublic Group of Cos.' Universal McCann; Bcom3 Group's Starcom MediaVest Group; and Omnicom Group's OMD.

Publicis Groupe's Zenith Media and WPP Group's MindShare and Media Edge, New York, drop out.
