NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Omnicom Group's TBWA/Chiat/Day, New York, announced late today it has not been awarded the $10 million AXA Financial account.

AdAge.com reported on Feb. 15 that AXA was expected to announce it hired TBWA/Chiat/Day. Previously, AdAge.com had reported AXA narrowed its review to TBWA and McCarthy Mambro Bertino, Boston.

Chief Operating Officer Carl Johnson said, "[AXA] hasn't made up their minds. It was just a premature call."

Mr. Johnson would not comment further.

But people close to the situation said a sticking point between TBWA and AXA is in the wording of the contract.

TBWA is still in the running for the account.

In a one paragraph press release, TBWA said AXA is still considering "multiple agencies."

An AXA spokesman could not be reached by press time.
