BOSTON (AdAge.com) -- Shell Lubricants today said it has selected Omnicom Group's TBWA/Chiat/Day to handle its $20 million Pennzoil Motor Oil account advertising account, according to executives close to the review.

won the account in a review that included sibling GSD&M, Austin, Texas, the incumbent; and Interpublic Group of Cos. agencies Deutsch, Los Angeles, and Martin Agency, Richmond, Va. TBWA's unit Tequila will handle marketing services.

The review began in January with 14 agencies vying for the account. Search consultant Roth Associates, New York, handled the review.

GSD&M, which had the account since 1996, retains Pennzoil's approximately $20 million media planning and buying account.

Houston-based Shell Lubricants is a division of the Shell Oil Co., an affiliate of Royal Dutch/Shell Group of Cos. Shell Oil acquired Pennzoil-Quaker State last March for $1.8 billion.
