Incumbent Martin Agency Invited to Defend Account

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Wireless and telecommunications carrier Alltel has placed its national and regional account into review, according to the marketer.

Incumbent Martin Agency, Richmond, Va., has been invited to defend. Martin is a unit of the Interpublic Group of Cos. Rojek Cutcher Group, Cleveland, is the consultant handling the review.

The review is expected to conclude in March 2003.

Billings not disclosed
Billings were not disclosed, but Alltel spent $51 million last year in measured media, according to Taylor Nelson Sofres' CMR.

Calls to Alltel and the Martin Agency were not returned at press time.

Alltel, based in Little Rock, Ark., has about 12 million customers nationwide.
