TIMEX AWARDS ACCOUNT TO KIRSHENBAUM

Fallon Had Account for 16 Years

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Watchmaker Timex Corp. selected Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners, New York, to handle its advertising account.

The Middlebury, Conn.-based marketer tapped the independent agency after a review; Kirshenbaum bested finalists Bartle Bogle Hegarty, New York, which is part owned by Publicis Groupe, and Modernista, Boston.

$6 million spent in 2001
Timex spent $6 million in measured media during 2001, according to Taylor Nelson Sofres' CMR.

Timex parted with its agency of 16 years, Publicis' Fallon, Minneapolis, in September. Fallon did not participate in the review.

Pile and Co., Boston, handled the agency review.
