Moves Global Account Away From JWT Without Review

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Unilever has consolidated its global Lipton teas account at Omnicom Group's DDB Worldwide, according to people familiar with the account. DDB has held the U.S. portion of the business, valued at roughly $46 million, since late 2004.

As with the U.S. portion, the global account was shifted away from WPP Group's JWT without a review.

DDB has helped the Lipton tea division grow in the U.S. by highlighting the health benefits of tea in all forms under the theme "Tea can do that." Unilever has increased its media spending on the brand 100% since 2005, when the package-goods company decided to raise the profile of the Lipton name.

DDB declined to comment; Unilever and JWT executives could not be reached for comment by press time.
