"We have been very pleased with the results Saatchi & Saatchi X has provided us as our in-store innovation partner," Julie Roehm, Wal-Mart senior VP-marketing communications, said in a statement. "By bringing the agency into an AOR arrangement as a roster agency, we believe we can achieve even greater results."
Wal-Mart has worked with Saatchi X and its predecessor since 1999 on a continuing project basis, but this is the first AOR relationship with the shop, based in Springdale, Ark., near Wal-Mart's Bentonville, Ark., headquarters. Saatchi acquired the agency in 2004, and it has since become a global shopper-marketing network with offices in New York and Europe as well.
Saatchi X also serves the Wal-Mart teams of several package-goods clients, including Procter & Gamble Co., General Mills and Novartis.
"By formalizing the partnership with a comprehensive AOR agreement, we are now positioned to accelerate ideas to better connect with [Wal-Mart] associates and customers," Ms. Roehm said.
