Global Advertising Account not Affected

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- First Data Corp.'s Western Union Financial Services, Denver, placed its North American consumer advertising account in review.

Incumbents Bromley Communications, San Antonio, which is part of Bcom3 Group, and independent Unity Media, New York, have been invited to compete.

The company said the review does not include its global advertising account, but that it is searching for an agency to handle multicultural duties in the U.S. and Canada.

Western Union split with Interpublic Group of Cos.' Lowe, New York, last fall when it decided it would focus its $20 million annual spend on the multicultural agencies.

Achenbaum Bogda Associates, New York, is handling. The decision date was not disclosed.
