John Gillespie, the council's president, said a $2 million print campaign breaking this fall will use a tagline developed by TBWA/Chiat/Day, "Wine. Since 6000 B.C." But he said work on the ads was produced by Rock & Wood, Sausalito, Calif. Additional work is being produced by Copacino & Fujikado, Seattle. The campaign's spending could rise to $5 million over the next few years, Mr. Gillespie said.
The council is a trade association of wine growers, producers and retailers.
Copacino this week also was named by the Metal Roofing Alliance as agency for an upcoming $2 million national cable TV and print campaign targeting consumers. The alliance's previous agency was Eisner Communications, Baltimore.
