FOR THE BOOKMARK: Web sites worth the click

By Published on .

A wealth of information on the nation's poorest citizens can be found at this Web site from the Center on Urban Poverty and Social Change. Based at Case Western University in Cleveland, the Center seeks to address the problems of urban poverty and to examine how social and economic changes affect low-income communities. Of particular interest is its newest publication series, “Behind the Numbers, which is available online. This series is intended to provide context to, and analysis of, public statistics, such as those presented by the U.S. Census Bureau. The first issue, “Trends in Poverty for Families with Children, takes a look at Census poverty data in light of recent trends in unemployment.
