Chances are slim that Florida's infamous butterfly ballot will ever resurface at a voting machine near you. If online consumers had their way, they'd rid the word "chad" from America's vocabulary as well. A full 82 percent of cyber-connected Americans would vote online if they could, effectively eliminating the need to punch anything out of a paper ballot. In fact, nearly two-thirds of online consumers (62 percent) would even vote in more elections if given the option to do so online, according to Active Research, Inc. Here's hoping they won't require a manual recount.
