(January, 2002), the 1998 New Strategist Publications/National Opinion Research survey should have been referred to by its proper title, the “1998 General Social Survey (GSS) of the National Opinion Research Center,â€? University of Chicago. The GSS should also have been cited as the source for the table “Family Time.â€? We regret the error.

  • In “Census 2000â€? (February, 2002), Rhode Island was omitted from the three maps. For the map “Foreign Exchange,â€? 10 percent to 15 percent of Rhode Island's population is foreign-born. For the map “Born in the U.S.A.,â€? less than 33 percent of Rhode Island's population was born in another state. For the map “Long-Standing Communities,â€? less than 65 percent of Rhode Island's population was born in Rhode Island. We regret the omissions.
