On any given day, a greater share of Asian Americans will go online than any other racial or ethnic group. According to a survey of 26,000 adults by the Pew Internet & American Life Project, more than half of all English speaking Asians (53 percent) go online during a typical day, compared with a third of all English speaking whites (33 percent), a quarter of all English speaking Hispanics (24 percent) and a sixth of all English speaking blacks (17 percent). Of all racial and ethnic groups online, Asians are the most likely to be young: 63 percent of all Asians online are between the ages of 18 and 34 compared with only 41 percent of the entire adult Internet population. However, older Asians are much slower to log on. In fact, a mere 15 percent of the Asian Internet population is 45 or older, compared with 36 percent of the white Internet population and 21 percent of blacks.
