Buena Vista Publishing Group named Glenn Rosenbloom as group publisher for Family and Children's Magazines for the New York City-based Disney subsidiary. Rosenbloom will be responsible for ad sales and marketing for FamilyFun, Disney Magazine and Disney Adventures. Rosenbloom joined Buena Vista in April 1996 as publisher of FamilyFun. Previously, he was vice president/associate publisher and advertising director of US Magazine.
"The group offers advertisers a unique opportunity to target kids and moms," says Rosenbloom, citing Disney Adventures' circulation of six million children and FamilyFun's several million mothers. "My goal is to leverage the individual strengths of each magazine to benefit the group and our advertisers."
The group plans to test a new magazine, Disney's Animal Kingdom, that focuses on people's love of wildlife and conservation efforts, not just the company's new theme park. Rosenbloom said the test begins next month with 100,000 copies on newsstands nationwide.
