Best Places to Work: No. 12 Slingshot
Balancing All the Perks Is Pro Bono Work for Nonprofits and Charities

Slingshot encourages events such as beer carts and 2 p.m. Fridays during the summer, employee art shows, annual Halloween competitions and "Shottie Awards" to formally recognize employee leadership, innovation, creativity and excellence, with some awards going up to $2,500.
Located in downtown Dallas, the office tries to promote an open environment by doing away with cubicles and walls. Slingshot encourages employees to work on pro-bono cases for nonprofit and charitable organizations, and also supports outside endeavors such as the 24-hour video race, where teams gather to create a short film in 24 hours within specified parameters.
Owen Hannay, chairman-CEO; David Young, chief operating officer; and Karen Stanton, chief financial officer, are some of the top executives at this company.
