A Quarterly Lunch Lets Employees Praise One Another's Work

Published on .

The employees of Sundog, a marketing and technology company in Fargo, N.D., host monthly Tech Talks to keep up with the latest news in technology and techniques.

Sundog's quarterly showcase lunch, known as "What Up, Dog?" allows employees to nominate the most creative work they produced in the previous months, and is a good opportunity to see what people in other areas of the company are doing. The company organizes a weekly voluntary meeting called Monday Funday for employees to discuss the latest in marketing and advertising in an informal environment over beers and snacks, and share something inspirational -- whether an interesting TV ad, industry statistics or YouTube videos.

At the end of the week is the Friday Four O' Clock in its Zen Cafe lounge space, where employees enjoy catered food, drinks and some fun games. The company also plans annual outings such as a tropical pool party and an ice-fishing trip.
