GRATE SPELCHEK: Among the letters Creativity received after advertising an editorial job opening was one from a candidate who claimed to be looking for a "challanging" position. Another applicant boasted of superior "grammer skills." Also of note were letters to Creativity Editor Rogier van Bakel that started with "Dear Robert" and "Dear Pauline," respectively.

JEEPERS CREEPERS: It's not easy to get immigrants and minorities to complete the Census form. A great deal of people in those groups are suspicious of the government, harboring fears that the information they volunteer will end up in INS and FBI computers. So special recognition should go to whoever came up with the Census posters that were plastered all over Detroit. They depict a pair of all-seeing eyes, enhanced by the reassuring slogan "Detroit: All Eyes Are on You."
