A new Adidas spot that broke this weekend from 180/TBWA -- specifically from TBWA/Chiat/Day/San Francisco -- shows a cosmic craftsman creating perfect models of NBA stars Kevin Garnett, Tracy McGrady and Tim Duncan. But the commercial, directed by Omaha Pictures' Rupert Sanders, is only the beginning. A short film called The Journey picks up where the commercial leaves off at www.21121.com. The animated short, designed and directed by Mekanism's Ian Kovalik, shows the three stars as they are taken on a strange tour of basketball's past, present and future, the last of which makes them realize that it's up to them to save the game from extinction.
