In the event that you were too busy contemplating the first ever on-air kiss between former Pepsi spokeswomen -- forget the children, what do we tell the brand managers!?! -- to pay attention to the rest of the MTV Video Music Awards, here's something you might have missed: a second spot from BBDO/New York and Independent Media director Chris Smith promoting the launch of Vanilla Pepsi. In it, two guys nearly go mad trying to get the product out of a vending machine that seems to be on the blink. It turns out, however, that the deck is stacked against them. The spot comes in 45-second and 30-second versions, along with a :15 stinger that airs during the same breaks, prolonging these poor guys' torment.
