The latest execution in Crispin Porter + Bogusky's campaign for Burger King's Chicken Fries is a music video for the band Coq Roq directed by HSI's Paul Hunter, which will debut this weekend on Comedy Central. Called "Cross the Road," it shows the mask-clad members of Coq Roq trying to reach a chicken fry-toting babe across the street at BK. Pyro effects, a car crash and plenty of rocker-style thrashing complete the clip's attitude, which borrows from the indulgent rock of the past and will be followed by a CD and DVD release and touring, according to CD Andrew Keller. "Grunge got rid of the show in a lot of ways," says Andrew Keller. "We said, let’s put the show back in the rock show. Let’s have fun." (MS)
