Don't make promises on your site that you aren't going to be able to keep. That's worse than not doing anything at all. One example: the Saturn Cars site, which, under "Communicate with Saturn," has for at least six months said, "You've probably already noticed that Saturn doesn't have an e-mail address -- yet. We're working on it, but we're waiting to list an e-mail address until we can promise a speedy, personal response." If you keep on saying publicly you're going to do something, you need to get it done. Or stop saying it.
