More than 100 power companies go Elcom route

Norwood, Mass.-E-procurement company Elcom International Inc. said Monday that it has landed a deal with Tennessee Valley Authority to link its power plants with Internet buying services. The deal is significant because TVA covers 158 individual local power companies. Elcom competitors such as Commerce One Inc. and Ariba Inc. have been avidly recruiting utilities as Internet purchasing clients.
