Chatsworth, Calif.—In its second acquisition in less than a month, 1105 Media on Tuesday announced it has bought the operating assets of Fawcette Technical Publications, which publishes Visual Studio and produces several international conferences including Builder 2.0, VS Live! and Web Design World.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
In early December, 1105 acquired Post Newsweek Tech Media for an undisclosed sum.
FTP will become part of 1105 Media’s Redmond Media Group, which includes Redmond Channel Partner, Redmond Developer News, Redmond Magazine, related Web sites and the semiannual TechMentor conference.
Neal Vitale, president-CEO of 1105 Media, said in a news release: “Besides adding a strong print and online resource in Visual Studio, this transaction significantly expands our conference and event activities in this marketplace.”
Jim Fawcette, founder of FTP, added in the same release: “Seeing one of your children move on is always difficult, but I feel that the business is in good hands and will grow as part of 1105.”
