For most of us publishers, things are looking up this year. After several brutal years, business was definitely better last year. And now the outlook for 2005 appears to be much, much brighter than I have seen in the last few years.

Across the board, marketers, agencies and publishers tell me they are getting more money to put to use, one way or another, this year. Overall, we are coming off a strong fourth quarter, and interactive is really starting to boom in the b-to-b space.

The trick, of course, is being innovative and finding ways to get your share of the expanding marketing budgets. Clearly, we have all heard the message that "just print alone" is not what many marketers want now.

Those who have been innovative over the past few years are seeing gains today. Media Business loves to highlight the forward-thinkers and innovators in our business. So, once again, our May issue will focus on Top Innovators in Business Publishing.

We will be honoring the 18 winners in six categories-top executive, top publisher, top editor, top circulation executive, top production executive and top new-media executive-from general business and large and small companies and publications.

Now all we need are your nominations to help us select our winners for this year. (For more details, see page 6). Winners will be honored at a luncheon June 15 at the Grand Hyatt in New York. Hope to see you there!
