‘Bloomberg BusinessWeek' confirms staffer cuts

Published on .

New York—Bloomberg BusinessWeek confirmed Thursday that it had cut an additional 25 staffers, as had been indicated in various media reports. The cuts come ahead of Bloomberg's planned relaunch of the title, which is slated for April.

Separately, Bloomberg has been running ads that promise to “reinvent” the business magazine. About 100 BusinessWeek staffers were cut in the days before Bloomberg LP acquired the business magazine from McGraw-Hill Cos. last December.

BusinessWeek's ad pages declined 33.8% last year compared with 2008, according to Publishers Information Bureau figures.
