‘Business Insurance’ publisher takes new role

Published on .

New York—Crain Communications Inc. announced that Martin J. Ross III has been named VP-managing director of events and business development for Business Insurance. He previously served as publisher of the brand.

“In 2010, Marty launched the Risk Management Summit for Business Insurance and it was a major success,” Christopher Crain, VP-group publisher, said in a statement. “It showed us that a significant event business is definitely possible for this brand.”

As part of this move, Crain Communications is moving the Business Insurance publisher’s office to Chicago to unify the publishing and editorial offices.

“Business Insurance is beginning an external search for candidates to fill the publisher’s post in Chicago,” Crain said. “We are grateful that Marty will continue as publisher in the interim while he helps us find his successor.”

Crain Communications also publishes Media Business.
