‘The Economist’ launches Conversation Cloud

Published on .

New York—The Economist on Thursday launched the Conversation Cloud, a feature that identifies the most popular discussions on the Economist Online.

The Conversation Cloud is designed to aggregate readers’ opinions on different subjects based on comments posted on articles, blogs and debates on the Economist Online. The Economist said it receives an average 25,000 comments per month.

“The idea of the Conversation Cloud is to allow readers to better navigate through conversations and to encourage and facilitate intellectual conversation between readers,” Ron Diorio, VP-product and community development at The Economist, said in a statement. “Making the Economist Online more social is part of the site’s transformation into the global hub for intelligent debate and discussion.”
