Washington, D.C.—One day after announcing the scuttling of its joint news service with The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post announced Thursday that it plans to introduce a global news service with Bloomberg.

The service, which will be called The Washington Post News Service with Bloomberg News, will offer 120 stories from the Post and Bloomberg News each day to newspapers, Web sites and other subscribers. In conjunction with the service, the Post and Bloomberg will also produce a co-branded business news page on washingtonpost.com.

The service will be available to news organizations around the world starting Jan. 1.
